
Website Nature's Nursery
Purpose:
Answer phones and interact with the public regarding questions or concerns they may have. This includes finding injured or orphaned animals, nuisance situations, or questions on animal behavior.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Attend a Hotline Training session provided by Nature’s Nursery to learn the appropriate way to handle hotline calls and client interactions
- Answer phones with pleasant attitude and calm demeanor knowing you are the ‘voice’ of Nature’s Nursery
- Ask questions to get a full understanding of clients’ situation before giving advice or having an animal come in for care
- Coordinate with volunteers to safely contain and transport animals
- Set appointments for animal admissions
- Admit animals into the computer system and exercise clear communication with staff when animals arrive
- Animal handling to transfer animals into our containers
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Attend Volunteer Orientation and training once per year
- Have a friendly attitude and patience with clients that may become upset
- Good communication and time management skills
- Able to learn computer system and input accurate data
- Able to handle difficult conversations with clients in person or over the phone
- Able to handle seeing animals sometimes severely injured and deal with death
- Up to date Tetanus vaccination
- Be willing to adopt, support, and communicate the mission of Nature’s Nursery
Time Commitments:
- 10:00 AM-3:00 PM-shifts open every day
