
Website Nature's Nursery
Purpose:
These volunteers aid in maintaining the outdoor areas, gardens, trails, and hardscaping at Nature’s Nursery locations. They also maintain healthy foliage in and around outdoor animal enclosures. We will be growing a minimum of greens for the animals, with the hope of more vegetables to lower our costs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Use standard gardening equipment such as lawn mowers, pruning shears, shovels, clippers, etc.
- Trimming, mulching, weeding, or clearing brush
- Cutting grass areas
- Shoveling and/or plowing snow
- Gardening-planting, weeding, picking
Minimum Requirements:
- Work cooperatively in a small team environment with staff and other volunteers
- Can perform repetitive tasks for an extended period of time
- Be willing to adopt, support, and communicate the mission of Nature’s Nursery
- Minimum age 18
- Up to date Tetanus vaccination
- Be self-motivated
- Knowledge of plants, gardening, and yardwork desired or willingness to train
Time Commitments:
- Minimum of 4 hours per week during busy, planting and/or growing season
- Times vary
- May be called upon to help after weather damage
